A good alternative to studying at university is an Ausbildung which prepares you practically for a job. It lasts between 1 and 4 years and starts usually in September.

Please note: In order to start an Ausbildung you will need a German language certificate of B1 and an Ausbildungserlaubnis (Ausbildung Permit) from the Ausländerbehörde (Foreigners Office).
